William Wallace Strode Sr.

William "Bill" Strode Sr., 70, of Indianapolis, passed away Saturday, May 4, 2019 at his residence. Bill was born on May 30, 1948 in Indianapolis to William and Alberta (Cox) Strode, both of whom preceded him in death.
Bill joined the United States Marine Corps and served for 6 years during the Vietnam War. He worked in carpet installation for over 30 years. He enjoyed watching NASCAR racing, collecting different eagles pictures, statues and taking trips on his motorcycle.
Bill is survived by wife: Venus Shera Mae Strode; children: Cassie Marie Strode, William Wallace Strode Jr., William Marlin Shawn Strode, Cedrick Bontilao, Allen Key Bontilao; siblings: Beverly "Genie" Strode, Marlin Guy (Vickie) Strode, Melvin Dane Strode, Nancy Jane Fries; grandchildren: Brianna, Kyiah, Hunter; nieces and nephews: Mark Allen, Brandy (Denton), J.R., Bobby, Brian, Sabrina (Miach), Tara (Brian), Laina and a host of other family and friends.
Visitation will be on Thursday, May 9. 2019 from 2 P.M. until his funeral service at 3 P.M. at Newcomer - Indianapolis Chapel, 925 E. Hanna Ave., IN 46227.
