William Johns Sr.

William Johns Sr., 78, of Indianapolis died June 8, 2016. He was born in Indianapolis to Ophie and Lettie Williams Johns on September 8, 1937. Bill was a member of Union Pipefitter Local #440 where he retired as Master Plumber in 2001.

Survivors include his son: William Johns Jr., five grandchildren and their spouses: Joshua Thornburg, Erin and Chuck Hruschak, Jeremiah and Alexis Cox, Stacy Thornburg, Kenneth Cox; 6 great-grandchildren: Jaxon, Madalynn, Owen, Nathan, Kenneth Jr., Bailey; sons-in-law: Joseph Cox and Robert Thornburg; several nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death are his parents; wife: Frances Carol Shelton Johns whom died in 2009; three daughters: Lori Shannon Cox, Catherine Thornburg, Sandra Johns; siblings: Russell Williams, Mary O'Hara, Junior, Ronnie, Cecil.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 925 Hanna Avenue, Indianapolis, IN 46227. William will be laid to rest at Washington Park East Mausoleum. Calling will be on Monday from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. A masonic funeral service will be conducted at 7:30 P.M. on Monday evening at the funeral home by the members of Englewood Masonic Lodge #715 F. & A. M.
