Wanda Louise Young

Beech Grove – Wanda Louise (Denney) Young, 80, passed away at 8:20 a.m. on Saturday, February 12, 2022 at Beech Grove Meadows in Beech Grove, Indiana. She was born to the late Herman and Martha Jane (Logston) Denney on April 30, 1941 in Woodstock, Kentucky.

In 1965, Wanda married Louis Young in Indianapolis, Indiana. She was a cook at Waffle House on Madison Avenue for many years. Formerly, Wanda worked as a CNA and cleaned condos in Florida. In her free time, she enjoyed fishing, eating out, listening to Elvis Presley, watching old TV shows, and playing Bingo and computer games. Wanda loved her family and her Chihuahua "Angel".

Wanda leaves behind her loving children, Denise Megenhardt and Diana Denney; her grandchildren: Christina Robinson, Regina Denney, Jackie Davis, Tia Dillman, Daniel Matthews, Christopher Bancroft, Savannah Smith, Joshua Lewis, Micala Smith, Jacob Davis, Dominik Matthews, Summer Light, Brian Smith Sr. and Jordan Davis; and her great-great grandchildren, Zayden Smith, little Louie Lewis, Ty Robinson, Ariana Robinson and Wyatt Robinson.

In addition to her parents, Wanda was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Young; her grandchildren, Brian Smith Jr. and Billy Joe Matthews; and her siblings: Virginia Anderson, Chris Epperson, Edith Kamp, Robert Denney, Don Denney and Beecher Denney.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Monday, February 21, 2022 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 925 East Hanna Avenue, Indianapolis, Indiana 46227. The funeral will follow at 4:00 p.m.
