Tony J. Hutchins

Tony Jerome Hutchins, age 62 of Indianapolis went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 25, 2022 at Community Hospital East in Indianapolis. He was born June 23, 1960 in Indianapolis the son of Sidney W. Hutchins and Reba D. (Winters) Williams. At a young age, Tony was baptised in the name of Jesus. He attended Shortridge High School in Indianapolis. For many years, Tony worked and provided for his family by working in the construction business in Indianapolis. He married Rochelle Wells on April 4, 2014. Tony was a man who liked to work hard, have fun and truly enjoy life. He loved music and was a great dancer, who even through health complications throughout life would always find a way to dance. Tony could light up any room with his great sense of humor and infectious smile. More than anything, Tony was a loving husband and father.

Tony is survived by his wife, Rochelle Hutchins; 2 daughters, Tasha (David) Williams and Esteria (Couliouse Adams) Gonzales; 3 step-daughters, Sabrina Hardy, Rachelle Hardy and Melnisha Cornelius; step-son, Moes Preston; 4 sisters, Donna Johnson, Denise (Andy) Anderson, Linda (Randall) Hutchins and Sherry (Warren) Price; 7 grandchildren Mikeia Duerson, Domineke Cooper, Kannsas Jackson, Micah Hardy, Travis, Traevon and Mikayla; 2 great-grandchildren, Egypt Duerson and Cairo Woods; several nieces and nephews; and numerous extended family members and friends.

Tony is preceded in death by his parents; 3 brothers, George Williams, Ronnie Williams and Larry Williams; and step-brother, Robert Price.

A funeral celebrating Tony's life and faith will take place at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, November 8, 2022 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions at 925 E. Hanna Ave. Indianapolis, IN 46227 officiated by David Williams, Bishop Brian Washington and Bishop Eddy Reed. Special music will be performed by his daughters, Tasha Williams and Esteria Gonzalez and special family member, Lynn Jones. A visitation for family and friends will be held prior to the service from 11:00 – 1:00 PM on Tuesday, November 8, 2022 at the funeral home. Burial will follow the funeral at New Crown Cemetery in Indianapolis. Following the burial there will be a reception from 4:00 – 6:00 PM for family and friends at the Jewel Center, 3333 North Illinois St. Indianapolis, IN.
