Tina Marie Basham

Tina Marie Basham, born on October 8, 1971, in Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away peacefully on January 12, 2025, at Chalet Rehabilitation Center, leaving behind a legacy of courage and kindness that will be cherished by all who knew her.

Tina was a remarkable individual who faced life with unwavering strength and grace. Born with spina bifida, she overcame significant health challenges, enduring over 46 surgeries throughout her lifetime. Against all odds, her family had been advised that she would only live past the age of two; however, Tina defied these predictions and lived a full and inspiring life. Her ability to embrace each day without complaint serves as a testament to her beautiful soul and indomitable spirit.

Her personality was as bright as her enthusiasm for life’s simple pleasures. Tina was known for her kind-hearted nature and sweet demeanor, touching the lives of everyone she encountered. She enjoyed many hobbies, including watching WWE wrestling, where she held a special admiration for John Cena. Additionally, she was a fan of horror films, particularly drawn to classics like Nightmare on Elm Street and Silver Bullet, reflecting her vibrant personality and love for unique experience.

Tina is survived by her brothers, Michael (Denise) Basham and Bruce Basham, who will remember her fondly and carry forward her legacy of determination and joy. She is preceded in death by her beloved parents, Willie and Ruth Basham.

A visitation will be held in her honor on January 16, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, located at 925 E Hanna Ave, Indianapolis, Indiana. This will be followed by a funeral service on January 17, 2025, commencing at 11:00 AM, also at Newcomer Funeral Home. Tina will then be laid to rest on the same day, at 1:00 PM, in New Providence Cemetery, located in Austin, Indiana.

Tina Marie Basham leaves behind a remarkable legacy of resilience and love, inspiring those fortunate enough to have known her to face their own challenges with the same strength she exemplified throughout her life. Her spirit will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of her family and friends.
