Timothy J. Rutledge, age 74, of Indianapolis, IN passed away on Wednesday, February 26, 2020 in Indianapolis after an extended illness. Tim was born in Phenix City, AL on February 4, 1946. He was the son of Mack and Leola Rutledge (nee Tarver).
For over 3 decades, Tim was employed at General Devices Electronic Hardware Manufacturing in Indianapolis. After his retirement, Tim enjoyed watching college and professional sports. His favorite teams were the Indianapolis Colts, Indiana Pacers and the University of Alabama football and basketball teams. Tim was Steve Harvey's number one fan. Back in the day if Tim wasn't at work you would find him at the ticket house or playing poker all night with his wife and friends. Tim liked to dance to every beat and wouldn't be caught without the smell of his cologne on.
Tim leaves behind his loving wife of 30 years, Mary Willis of Indianapolis, IN; sons, Thomas Willis and Daniel Willis both of Indianapolis, IN; daughters, Angela Myles of Indianapolis, IN and Diane Byers of Crawfordsville, IN; daughter-in-law, Dana Willis of Indianapolis, IN; son-in-law, Terry Myles of Indianapolis IN; sisters, Linda Kelley, Patricia Hood, Anita Baker and Dollie Owoade (husband Adewunmi); brother, Mack Rutledge, III (wife Pascha); grandchildren Maria Willis, Avril Boberschmidt, Timmy White, Amanda Brunett, Thomas Willis, Meika Willis, Alysia Willis, Noel Willis, Tionna Willis, Sierra Myles, Andrew Willis and Danielle Willis all of Indianapolis IN; several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a host of other family members and friends.
Funeral Ceremony celebrating Tim's life will be 12:00 pm Monday, March 2, 2020 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions located at 925 East Hanna Ave., Indianapolis, IN 46227 with Major Troy Barker of the Salvation Army officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm at Newcomers. Interment will be at a later date in the Providence Baptist Church Cemetery in Georgia.
