Tessie Ann Layne

Indianapolis - Tessie Ann Layne, 56, passed away Monday, February 14, 2022. She was born April 18, 1965 in Indianapolis to the late George and Sharon Cobb Smith. She loved animals and served as a caretaker at an animal shelter. She also loved Harley Davidsons and dancing, but more than anything else, she loved her family, particularly her kids and grandkids.

Tessie was preceded in death by her twin sons, David and Daniel; parents, George and Sharon Cobb Smith; and sisters, Carmen Davis and Candy Smith. She is survived by her beloved husband, Harold Layne; daughters, Ciji Pueblo and Tecey Smith; sons, Dustin Wethington and Jeffrey Bandy; sisters, Tammy George, Tiffany Pardue, Robbi Smith, Jordan Smith and Shaye Naugle; brother, George Smith; grandchildren: MaKayla, Maleigha, Todiana, Jayleana, Jaylycia, Julius, Jayveon, Journee, Bella and Byron; and many other loving family members and friends.

Tessie's family will receive friends Wednesday, February 23, 2022 from 5 – 8 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 925 East Hanna Avenue, Indianapolis, IN 46227. A celebration of her life will follow Thursday, February 24, 2022, at 11 am.
