Terry Sleek

Terry Sleek, a cherished soul who brought joy and laughter into the lives he touched, passed away on March 4, 2025, in his beloved hometown of Indianapolis, Indiana. Born on October 3, 1964, he lived a life brimming with kindness, humor, and generosity, which earned him the affectionate nickname "Fabio" from his long-time friend, Jack Settles.

Terry dedicated a significant part of his career as a Delivery Driver at S & B Distributors, where he was known not only for his strong work ethic but also for his friendly demeanor and willingness to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. A proud graduate of Decatur High School, class of 1983, he exhibited an unwavering dedication to family and friends throughout his life.

In a vibrant array of roles, Terry was a loving son, a devoted husband, a nurturing father, and a doting grandfather. He held deep affection for his mother, cherishing her influence in his life. He married the love of his life, Melissa Sue Gordon, on November 21, 1992, at the Sundance Bar in Indianapolis, crafting a partnership that blossomed through shared moments and unwavering support.

Terry's legacy is carried on by his loving wife, Melissa Sleek; his children, Amanda Sleek, Braiden Sleek, Stephen Gumm, Brandon Gumm, Jessie Sleek, and Cody (Amanda) Sleek; his treasured grandchildren, Jacob Howell, Brandon Sleek, Wesley Gumm, Jessie Sleek II, Joshua Sleek, Aaron Sleek, Jacobi Sleek, Aubree Sleek, Harper Sleek, and Sophia Sleek his siblings, Kevin Sleek, Denny Sleek, and Brad Sanders; and his beloved mother, Patty Ruth.

His joyous spirit was evident in his passions—fishing, grilling, gardening, riding his Harley, camping, kayaking, hiking, and exploring the great outdoors. An avid fan of the Indianapolis Colts and country music, he found immense happiness in the simplest moments spent with his family.

Terry was preceded in death by his son, Stephen Gumm III, and his best friend, Stephen Gumm II. Their absence is deeply felt, but their memories will forever live on in the hearts of those who love him.

Family, friends, and loved ones are invited to gather and celebrate Terry's life during a memorial service to be held at Newcomer Funeral Home, located at 925 E Hanna Ave, Indianapolis, IN 46227, on March 7, 2025, starting from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM, with another service beginning at 4:00 PM.
