Terri Kathryn Wiliford

December 5, 1949 — September 14, 2024

Indianapolis, Indiana

Terri Kathryn Wiliford, a feisty Floridian with a spirit as adventurous as a canoe ride down the wildest river left this world on September 14, 2024, in Indianapolis, Indiana at the age of 74. Born on December 5, 1949, in Tampa, Florida, Terri was not just a customer service superstar at Anthem, but also a master of life who balanced caring with a dash of stubbornness and a whole lot of fun.

Graduating from Northwestern High School in 1968, she knew early on that rule-breaking was her specialty! Known for her loyalty and independence, she tackled challenges with a big smile and a poker face, especially when it came to her favorite adventures in board games and euchre. Whether it was camping under the stars or taking spirited car rides, every moment was a chance for fun with Terri leading the way.

Terri had a wild life. Her father, a sheriff and big band trumpet player and singer (Charlie Davis Band) and her mother, Marie Chevrolet, the daughter of Arthur Chevrolet - yes, THAT Chevrolet, and a great uncle that won the 1920 Indianapolis 500!

Terri grew up in the 60's and 70's and was very much a product of of her time. She hitchhiked across the country, marched with the Black Panthers, attended Woodstock and partied with celebrities.

Terri is survived by her two wonderful children, Jacob Vincent Wiliford and Erin O'Keefe, who carry her spirit forward. Her playful nature lives on through her granddaughter, Isabella Havens, who undoubtedly shares in Terri's zest for life. Brother Bill Wiliford remains to share stories that would surely have Terri rolling with laughter.

Though she was preceded in death by her parents, Harry James Wiliford and Marie Angelina Wiliford-Chevrolet, and siblings Harry A. Wiliford, Anna Marie Wiliford, and Gerald "Jerry" Wiliford, we can only imagine the raucous reunions happening above—all laughter and joy as Terri makes her grand entrance!

Join us as we celebrate the memory of our beloved Terri. May her adventurous spirit inspire us all to seek out the things that make us smile, whether it's a day by the water, an exciting game night, or simply living life with the kind of joy she exemplified. Here’s to you, Terri! May you rest while you float on dragonfly wings, forever kicking up the fun wherever you may be!
