Suzanne Mary Snoddy, age 60 of Indianapolis passed away on Wednesday, April 5, 2023 at I.U. Health University Hospital in Indianapolis. She was born May 13, 1962 in Springfield, Missouri, the daughter of Thomas R. and Norma J. (Kelley) Spencer. Suzanne was a 1980 graduate of Roncalli High School, and following high school she earned her associates degree from Ivy Tech in the field of nursing. She married the love of her life, Brian K. Snoddy on May 8, 1982 at St. James the Greater Catholic Church in Indianapolis.
Suzanne worked for St. Francis Hospital and other local assisted living facilities on the southside of Indianapolis prior to 2003 when she had to go on permanent disability due to a kidney transplant. She enjoyed going to the Eiteljorg Museum, learning about Native American history, and making jewelry. Suzanne liked to cook, collect cook books and collect flamingo items. She loved to spend time with her family and friends, especially going out to eat and going shopping. Suzanne adored her two parakeets named, "Chit" and "Chat".
More than anything, Suzanne will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. She truly had a heart of gold and loved spending time with her loved ones.
Suzanne is survived by her husband, Brian K. Snoddy; daughter, Christian Leigh "Chrissy" Snoddy; brother, Patrick M. (wife Debbie) Spencer; 3 grandchildren, Caiden Terry, Cole Terry and Cye Terry; 6 nieces and nephews; several great nieces and nephews; and numerous extended family members and friends.
Suzanne is preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Erin E. Snoddy; brother, Thomas R. Spencer II; and sister, Elizabeth Spencer.
A funeral service will take place at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, April 12, 2023 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 925 E. Hanna Ave. Indianapolis, IN 46227. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm prior to the service on Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will take place after the funeral at Washington Park East Cemetery.
In honor of Suzi's zest for life, her family has requested that all participants wear something purple to the visitation and service.
