Suzanne Smith

Suzanne (Faeth) Smith, age 57, of Arlington, Indiana passed on Friday February 24, 2017 at her home due to a cardiac related event. She was born on January 10, 1960 to Mary and Paul Faeth in West Lafayette, Indiana.

She graduated from New Haven High School in New Haven, Indiana as class valedictorian, in 1978 and Butler University in Indianapolis, Indiana where she graduated Cum Laude in 1982 with a Bachelor of Science Degree (in Computer Science). On August 13, 1983 she married M. Kent Smith (Butler grad. 1981).

Fairly early in her adult married life, she was diagnosed with a significant medical condition that impacted every aspect of their life. Even with serious medical conditions Sue was able to experience a rich and fullfilling life. Sue was employed with IBM until her retirement and received numerous awards recognizing her achievements. After retirement she lived a quiet, contemplative life. Some of her proud achievements were her love for reading books and writing, her work with collie rescue, her many adventures with her husband involving fishing, sky diving, winter camping, dog sledding, hiking and many trips to national parks and Canada. She was also proud to be a 10+ year breast cancer survivor. She always had genuine care and concern for others.
Suzanne was preceded in death by her parents and her brother: Clint Faeth.

She is survived by her husband: Kent Smith of Arlington, Indiana; brother: Warren Faith of Bristol, Indiana; mother-in-law: Phyllis Smith of Greenwood, Indiana; sister-in-law: Cheryl Sutton and her husband Matt; nephew: Brian Sutton and his wife Johanna; nephew: Taylor Sutton; brother-in-law: Eric Smith and his wife Angie; nephew: Kevin Smith and his wife Brooke; great niece: Dezi Smith; nephew: Greg Smith plus a large extended family of many cousins, aunts and uncles.
