Stephen Clair Wright, Jr.

Indianapolis - Stephen Clair Wright, Jr., 29, passed away Saturday, January 18, 2020. He was born February 9, 1990 in Indianapolis, IN to Stephen Wright, Sr. and Frances "Jenny" Simpson Wright. He was an ironworker and member of Local 22. Additionally, he loved working on cars and there wasn't much that he couldn't fix.

Stephen's family described him as a beautiful and mercurial soul. To know him was to love him. He was a Christian who loved Jesus. He was known to go out of his way to help anyone in need, whether it be a friend, family member or a perfect stranger. He was a member and supporter of the LGBTQ community. He had a particular passion for the environment. He also had a heart for minorities and enjoyed learning about their struggles for civil rights throughout our country's history.

Stephen was preceded in death by his brother, Jack Jacobs III. He is survived by his parents, Jenny and Stephen Wright, Sr.; sisters, Renee (Steve) Powell and Jill (Steve Schaf) Jacobs; brother, Scott (Kim) Wright; nieces: Aaliyah, Mollie, Madelyn and Schuyler; and nephews: Kaleb, Gabriel, Reggie and Cadence.

Stephen's family will receive friends Thursday, January 23, 2020, from 4 – 8 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 925 East Hanna Avenue, Indianapolis, IN 46227.
