Stephen Rhodes, 68 of New Castle, passed away on Sunday October 8, 2017. Steve was born on May 2, 1949 to Willard Felix Rhodes Sr. and Melba Ruth (Cobb) Rhodes in Clarksville, Tennessee. Steve graduated from Camden Central High School. Steve served his country during the Vietnam War in the United States Navy. He attained the rank of Aviation Coordinates Man; where he loaded weapons and Ammunition on the aircrafts. After his honorable discharge he went on to Tennessee Tech University graduating in 1972.
Steve worked for EDS in Dayton and then was transferred to Unigraphic in Georgia; Steve retired from Emerson in St. Louis in 2015. He was published in the Wall Street Journal for his project at Caterpillar in computer programing.
In his free time Steve enjoyed fishing, music collection, Jeep Hill Climbs, riding his Harley Davidson, photography; he was a very generous man and had contributed to the National Association of Christian Children Agency for over 35 years.
Steve is survived by his wife: Sandy Rhodes whom he married in 1996; his "baby" Molly the Schnauzer; brother and sister-in-law: Larry & Sheila Rhodes; niece: Angela Marie Rhodes; nephew and his wife: Michael Wayne & Danielle Rhodes and a host of other family and friends.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents; brother: Willard Felix Rhodes Jr.
Visitation will be on Friday, October 13, 2017 at New Covenant Church 4340 Union Rd, Middletown, OH 45005 from 5 P.M. until 8 P.M. His Funeral Service will be conducted on Saturday at the church at 10 A.M. with interment will follow at Woodside Cemetery.
