Shirley Ann Collett

Indianapolis – Shirley Ann Collett, 85, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, December 4, 2019. She was born December 6, 1933 in Indianapolis to the late Chess and Jessie Opel McGrew Bohannon. She was employed by Blue Cross Blue Shield where she served as a case worker. She was active in several churches over the years, including River Avenue Baptist Church, Burge Terrace Baptist Church and Little Union Baptist Church. Additionally, she was associated with the West Baden Research Club and the Spring Valley Exchange Club.

Ms. Collett was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Herbert Carlos Collett, Sr.; son, William Robert Collett; daughter, Patricia Ann Collett Liston; and sister, Norma Jean Bueche. She is survived by her daughter, Judy Catherine Collett Cappadona; son, Herbert Carlos Collett, Jr.; sister, Delores June Wininger; brother, Chet Bohannon; 7 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; and many other loving family members and friends.

Ms. Collett's family will receive friends Monday, December 16, 2019 from 10 am -12 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 925 East Hanna Avenue, Indianapolis, IN 46227. A celebration of her life will be conducted at 12 pm at the funeral home. A committal service will follow at Floral Park Cemetery in Indianapolis.
