INDIANAPOLIS – Sara Jo Gaalema Davis, 44, passed away Saturday, November 26, 2022, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was born August 4, 1978 in Beech Grove, IN to Charles Stephen Gaalema and the late Carla Ann Ison Gaalema. She graduated from Perry Meridian High School in 1996 and then attended ITT Technical Institute.
Sara and the love of her life, Paul Joseph Davis, were united in marriage on June 22, 2002 in Camby, IN on the Davis family's property. She was employed by Republic Trash Service for several years and Target warehouse for 8 years, but was unable to continue working after being diagnosed with brain cancer in 2016. Prior to the diagnosis, Sara loved reading and enjoyed shopping and knitting.
Sara is survived by her husband, Paul Joseph Davis; son, Mackenzie Gene "Mack" Davis; daughter, Brynn Ann Davis; brother, Charles Gaalema; sister, Misty Walsh; and father, Charles Stephen Gaalema. She was preceded in death by her mother, Carla Ann Gaalema and her grandmother, Gene Erbecker.
Sara's friends and family may visit from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Thursday, December 1, 2022 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 925 East Hanna Avenue, Indianapolis, IN 46227. The funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM with Chaplain Mike Mercer officiating. A committal service will follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, 734 North Morgantown Road, Greenwood, IN 46142.
