INDIANAPOLIS – Sandra Sue “Sandi” Brown Davis, 80, passed away at 6:35 PM on Sunday, November 19, 2023 at her home. She was born on September 20, 1943 to the late Luther and Violet Wildora Love Brown in Bloomington, Indiana.

Sandi graduated from Bloomington High School in 1961. She was united in marriage on November 27, 1970 to Richard Joseph Davis at St. John the Apostle Church in Bloomington, Indiana.

Professionally, Sandi worked various jobs throughout her life. From 1961 to 1970 she was a line worker at RCA in Bloomington, Indiana. In 1978, Sandi worked at Kmart for a brief time in El Paso, Texas and then transferred to Kmart in Indianapolis, Indiana in 1982. She also told Tupperware in the 1980’s.

Sandi was a member of the Red Hat Society and T.O.P.S. – Taking Off Pounds Sensibly #1174. She was a true admirer of her T.O.P.S. family. Sandi’s hobbies included reading, Bingo, bowling, crocheting and RV camping. Her absolute favorite things to do were reading, playing Bingo and eating Mexican food. Sandi cherished spending time with her family, friends and especially her great grandchildren. She enjoyed attending the covered bridge festival each year. As well as, hunting morel mushrooms and then cooking and eating them. Sandi was friendly, outgoing and the type that never met a stranger.

She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Richard Joseph Davis; daughters: Susan (Rick) Burgett, Jennifer (Jef) Dins and Heather Ratcliff; grandchildren: Andrew (Erin) Wade, Phillip (Summers) Wade, Rachel (Chris Colley) Burgett, Phillip Hatton, Nicole “Nikki” (Gilbert) Hatton Garcia, Griffin Mullins, Leighton Ratcliff, Alexandra (Robert) Dins Merkel, Ariel (Vito Irvin) Dins, Amanda Dins and Alyssa Dins; great grandchildren: Logan Wade, Laynie Wade, Vanessa Wade, Ethan Wade, Gerald Wade, Matthew Garcia, Levi Merkel, Ruby Merkel and Ellis Merkel; and daughter-in-law, Trayce Hatton.

In addition to her parents, Sandi was preceded in death by her son, David Hatton and siblings: Linda Kinser, Debbie Cowden, Leslie Cowden, Greg VanBuskirk and Tony VanBuskirk.

Sandi’s friends and family may visit from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 925 East Hanna Avenue, Indianapolis, Indiana 46227. The funeral service will follow at 7:00 PM with Deacon Jim Kitchen officiating.
