It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Russell E. Dillman, who left this world on March 2, 2025, in Indianapolis, Indiana, at the age of 70. Born on December 28, 1954, in Chicago, Illinois, Russell was a beloved brother, cherished by his siblings and community alike.
Russell was known for his passion for fishing, which brought him peace and joy throughout his life. He found delight in the simple pleasures, often engaging in tablet games and dreaming of fortune through the lottery. These hobbies reflected his spirited nature and his ability to find happiness in everyday moments.
He is survived by his loving siblings: Patricia Clark, Melody Drain, Janet Bumgarner, Shirley Sandlin, Joy Hendrix, Florida Scaggs, and Marla Jo Rice; and his long-time best friend, Gary Davis. Each will carry cherished memories of their brother and friend, whose presence brought warmth and laughter into their lives. Additionally, he leaves behind many nieces and nephews that lovingly referred to him as "Uncle Bobo".
Russell was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Margaret Dillman, and his brother, Scotty Dillman. As we remember Russell, we honor his zest for life, his love for family, and the memories he created that will remain with his siblings forever. His spirit will be missed, leaving behind a legacy of joy and connection to those who were fortunate to know him.
