Indianapolis - Rolf Juergen Mielke, 80, passed away Saturday, January 28, 2023. He was born September 22, 1942 in Koblenz, Germany to the late Karl and Leeza Lota Mielke. He served in the German Army.
Rolf moved to Chicago in 1961 when he was just nineteen years old. He taught himself to speak English by watching TV and listening to people place their orders in bars and restaurants. In 1991, after 30 years, Rolf became a citizen of the United States. He was employed in the transportation industry where he served as a truck driver.
Rolf was preceded in death by his wife, Faye Mielke; parents, Karl and Leeza Lota Mielke; son, Richard; daughter, Judy; and granddaughter, Alesia. He is survived by his daughters: Shawn Tinsley and her husband, Gregg, Debbie Falls and her husband, Steve, Judy Mielke and Janet Krebs; grandchildren: Gregory, Trinity, Kira, Jada, Savannah, Ashton, Raven, Kayla, Randy, Ashley, David and Jamie; great grandchildren: Odin, Cora, Addy, Bethany, Taylor, Colton and Nathaniel; beloved Yorkshire Terriers, Cody and Kush; and many other loving family members and dear friends.
Rolf's family will receive friends, Thursday, February 2, 2023, from 11 am – 1 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 925 East Hanna Avenue, Indianapolis, IN 46227. A celebration of his life will follow at 1 pm. A committal service will be conducted at Floral Park Cemetery.
