Beech Grove - Roberta Coffman Estes, 94, passed away Thursday, December 3, 2020 at Community Hospital South in Indianapolis, Indiana. She was born January 12, 1926 in Lincoln County, Kentucky to the late William Robert and John Mealie Brown Coffman.
Roberta began working at Palm Beach in Danville, Kentucky before she was sixteen and worked there for nearly 25 years. She and her family moved to Indianapolis in 1966 where she worked at Indiana Mills & Manufacturing Company in Carmel, Indiana for almost 12 years.
Roberta was preceded in death by her parents; brothers: George, Dewey, and T.M. Coffman; and sister, Luella Wray. She is survived by her children: Burl W. Estes and his wife, Anna of Hustonville, Kentucky, Judy M. Shaw of Pasadena, Texas, Valerie C. Trees and her husband, Floyd of Camby, Indiana, Ileta Schaub of Indianapolis, Indiana, Deborah L. Eldridge of Beech Grove, Indiana, and Twylia J. White and her husband, Mike of Mooresville, Indiana; siblings, Lillie McMullins of Stanford, Kentucky and Ruby Marlow of Mt. Salem, Kentucky. Along with the six children, she is survived by 11 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren. As well as a host of nieces, nephews and extended family members.
Roberta's family will receive friends Thursday, December 10, 2020, from 12 – 1 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 925 East Hanna Avenue, Indianapolis, Indiana 46227. A funeral service will follow at 1 pm. For the health and safety of all guest attending, face masks are required. Thank you. A committal service will be conducted Friday, December 11, 2020, at 2:30 pm at Buffalo Springs Cemetery, 630 Kentucky Highway 78, Stanford, Kentucky 40484.
