Belleville – Robert Donald "Bob" Rude, Jr., 53, gained his wings Saturday, July 28, 2018. Eighteen months ago, Bob was diagnosed with ALS, commonly called Lou Gehrig 's disease, and now he is finally at rest.
Bob was born Saturday, June 5, 1965, in Indianapolis, IN to the late Mary and Robert Rude, Sr. Bob spent his childhood years in Pennsylvania and his young adult life in Fresno, California, and Brookings, Oregon, working on construction sites and framing houses. His life went full circle in 2001, when he returned to his birthplace. He was employed by Carpet Corner of Indianapolis where he served as a lead installer from August of 2001 until March of 2017. His humor, good nature and free spirit will be remembered.
Bob was preceded in death by his father and mother. He is survived by his beloved wife, Beth Renee Fox-Rude; daughter, Christina Rude and her companion, Emmanuel; sons, Kenny Human and Brandon Fox; grandsons, Kenny, Gavin, Ezekiel, Jonah and Zayden; granddaughters, Audrina, McKynlee, and MariEva; brothers, Ronnie, Donnie and his wife, Debbie and Gary Adams; sister, Debbie Bowers and her husband, Raymond; 10 sisters in-law; 2 brothers in-law; and 154 nieces and nephews. He will be missed by many.
Bob's family will receive friends Friday, August 3, 2018, from 4 – 8 pm and Saturday, August 4, 2018, from 10 - 11 am at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 925 East Hanna Avenue, Indianapolis, IN 46227. A celebration of his life will be conducted Saturday, August 4, 2018, at 11 am at the funeral home chapel. The family requests that memorial contributions be made, in Bob's memory, to the ALS Association at webin.alsa.org.
