Robert Wayne Houpt

Indianapolis - Robert Wayne Houpt, 50, affectionately known as "Tater" to his friends at the We Just Ride Bicycle Club, passed away Wednesday, June 1, 2022. He was born June 28, 1971 in Indianapolis to the late Paul Eugene Houpt and Barbara Haulk Houpt-Alt.

Tater loved cycling, working on bikes and fishing. He was quick with a laugh and a smile and loved being outdoors. He enjoyed helping others and being with his friends.

Tater is survived by his companion, Sharon Shirley; children, Chelsea Kay Houpt, Lucius Houpt and Ari Gromatka; sisters, Ruby Houpt-Hartwell, Mary Ellen-Houpt and Angela Gilber; 3 grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Tater's family will receive friends Tuesday, June 7, 2022 from 5 - 7 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals and Receptions, 925 East Hanna Avenue. Indianapolis, IN 46227.
