Robert J. Coble

Robert Joseph "Bob" Coble, age 75 of Beech Grove, passed away on April 20, 2023 at Fairway Village Nursing Home in Indianapolis. He was born January 22, 1948 in Bedford, Indiana the son of Martin and Rosemary (Choate) Coble. Bob was a 1965 graduate of Warren Central High School. He enlisted in the United States Navy in 1966 and served 3 tours in Vietnam. Bob retired from Navistar where he worked in the plumbing and pipe fitting field. He was a member of the Masons. He enjoyed watching racing, both NASCAR and Indy cars, especially the Indianapolis 500. Bob also liked to go deep sea fishing, collect cars and spend time with his family. He took many memorable vacations over the years, including trips to Texas, Panama City Beach and Tennessee. Bob especially liked to fix things around the house and always volunteered to help others with their projects. More than anything, Bob loved to spend time with his family and friends.

Bob is survived by his wife, Imogene Coble; 3 children, Robyn (Jon) Coble-Chappell, Natalie (Kevin) Coble-Price and Jennifer (Mark) Lambirth; sister, Mary Jean Coble; 8 grandchildren, Nicholas Thurmond, Madeline Matthies, Finley Price, Connor Chappell, Chase Chappell, Tristian Lee, Reagan Lee and Avery Lambirth; great-grandchild, Mayer Matthies; and several extended family members and friends.

Bob is preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Marvin Lee Coble.

A celebration of Bob's life will be held from 12:00 – 2:00 pm on Saturday, April 29, 2023 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals and Receptions, 925 E. Hanna Ave., Indianapolis, IN 46227. Following the visitation from 12-2, military honors by the U.S. Navy and Indianapolis Metropolitan Honor Guard will take place at 2:00 pm.
