Indianapolis - Renda Kay Staton, 80, passed away Saturday, October 27, 2018.
Mrs. Staton was born October 9, 1938 in Indianapolis to Albert and Charlotte Ruble. She owned and operated Ruble Flowers, a flower shop founded by her parents in 1945. She was very involved in youth sports at Rhodius Park and Carnine Little League for many years. She also enjoyed DC Hawks football. What she loved most was spending time with her family and everyone who called her "Mom" and "Grammy".
Mrs. Staton was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Donald Staton; son, Douglas Staton; and daughter-in-law, Carolyn Staton. She is survived by her daughters, Deanne Sevier and her husband, Phil, and Debra McDaniel and her husband, John; sons, Donald Staton, Jr. and his wife, Kathy, David Staton, Dennis Staton and his wife, Marianne and Dusty Staton and his fiance, Jamie; 18 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; and many other family members and friends.
Mrs. Staton's family will receive friends Thursday, November 1, 2018, from 2 – 7 pm, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 925 East Hanna Avenue, Indianapolis, IN 46227. A celebration of her life will be conducted at 7 pm at the funeral home.
