Phyllis Joan Baird of Indianapolis passed February 9th at Heartway Home. She was born October 11, 1925 in Wolcott, Indiana to the late Joseph and Celia (Danner) Stoller. She was a 1944 graduate of Wolcott High School. She attended Canterbury College in Danville, Indiana where she met and married Oren Kenneth Baird of Charlestown, Indiana. After 58 years of marriage, Kenny preceded her in death on November 24, 2005. She is survived by Richard Stoller, Larry Stoller and Beverly Stoller Blume. preceeding her were Ervin 'Bud' Stoller, Daniel Stoller, Norma Stoller Blume and Francis Stoller Bahler.
They moved to Wanamaker, Indiana in 1952. They were members of Southminster Presbyterian Church. Phyllis was active in the Church Women's Association. She was assistant to the Franklin Township Trustee and a substitute teacher in Franklin Township schools. Phyllis and Kenny attended two of his 83rd US Army Infantry division reunion tours in Europe and two presidential inaugurations.
Phyllis is survived by 6 children: Chrisa Hickey (Ed), David Baird (Marie), Dwight Baird, Beth Diaz, Mark Baird (Loren Santos) Bruce Baird (Chris Turner) -- 10 grandchildren: Bryan, Jonathan, Elizabeth and Mick Baird; Anna Baird- Luedke, Sara Diaz, Andrew Diaz; Brent Hickey, Celeste Hickey, Kyle Hickey and Bryan Gabriel and 5 great grandchildren.
On Saturday February 17th, Southminster Presbyterian Church, 9950 Southeastern Ave. Indianapolis 46239, will host a visitation and lunch at 11:30 am, with memorial service at 2:00 pm.
