Phillip William Cutter, 89, of Pendleton, Kentucky entered this life on February 6, 1932. He was born to the late Ralph William and Rosaline (Deck) Cutter in Kokomo, Indiana. Phillip passed away at 3:45 PM on Sunday, August 29, 2021 at Louisville VA Medical Center.
He graduated from Kokomo High School and attended Herron School of Art and Design in Indianapolis, IN. Phillip enlisted in the United States Army on April 22, 1949 in Indianapolis, IN and was honorably discharged on October 22, 1952 at Camp Breckinridge in Kentucky. While proudly serving his country he received the Army Occupation Medal in Germany and a Good Conduct Medal. Professionally, Phillip was a Quality Control Inspector in the electronics manufacturing industry. He retired from IMC Corporation.
Phillip was united in marriage on January 24, 1953 in Indianapolis, IN to Lewanna Lee Lott. This union was blessed with four children: Fern, Ralph, Ronald and Mildred. He was a devoted member of Lighthouse Baptist Church in Indianapolis, IN where he was the bass singer in the Old Time Gospel Quartet. Phillip enjoyed watching football and was an avid Colts fan. He loved spending time with his loving family, singing, sleeping and art.
Phillip is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Lewanna Lee Cutter; his daughters, Fern M. Willett and her husband, Vance J. and Mildred S. Childers and her husband, Gerald M.; his sons, Ralph W. Cutter and his wife, Peggy A. and Ronald L. Cutter and his wife, Rhonda R.; 8 grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Phillip was preceded in death by his siblings, John L. Cutter and Rosemary Hamilton and his grandchild, Nathan Bradly Willett.
Phillip's family will receive guest from 10:00 AM – 11:30 AM on Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at Lighthouse Baptist Church, 6950 East Raymond Street, Indianapolis, Indiana 46239. The funeral service will follow at 11:30 AM with Pastor Dan Tidd officiating. Burial will take place at Asbury Cemetery in Morristown, Indiana.
