INDIANAPOLIS – Patricia Christine "Pat" (Crabtree) Cloud, age 76, went peacefully into the comforting embrace of God on Friday, April 29, 2022 at Indiana University Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, IN surrounded by loved ones. She was born on January 11, 1946 to the late Ruby Opal Crabtree at St. John's Hospital in Port Townsend, Washington.
On December 30, 1966 in Indianapolis; Pat was united in marriage to Roosevelt Cloud. Her love for Rose was unparalleled because he was not only choosing to love her but to love her son, Tony Cloud.
She was extremely proud of her son, Tony, whom she often spoke lovingly about.
She was also blessed with a loving daughter-in-law, Kristie, whom she viewed as her own as well as a friend. They shared a love of cooking and making memories with the family.
Her love for her grandchildren, Alyssa, Alex, and Abby, was unmatched. She made them her main focus. She made every effort to make them feel loved and cared for no matter what.
Family was everything to Pat. She made even a stranger feel like they were a part of her family. This love is what made her grandson-in-law, Mikey, first feel like family. The latest light in Pat's life was her great-grandson, Kingsley Rose.
Pat was a loving mother to all. She was beautiful inside and out. Her hospitality was second to none. To know Pat is to know of Sunday Dinner and her mashed potatoes and corn. She was always inviting church family over whether they were new or had been friends for years. She had three permanent spots at her table for, Bill, Bobby, and Miss Freeda, who were her adopted family.
Pat was intentional about reaching out to her family in Tennessee and her lifelong friends to keep their relationships strong.
Pat and Rose were known for their big Fourth of July parties in which everyone was invited. She blessed others with her cooking and baking. And oh did she bake! She was famous for her pumpkin rolls and banana bread. She showed her love for God and was a true servant that shared her gifts with a smile.
She was a member of New Life Church, formerly University Heights Baptist Church and was just honored for 30 years of serving with Awana. Pat loved her Cubbies and they loved her.
She used her gifts to help comfort those in need as a Support Staff Member at Newcomer Funeral Home where she was just honored for her 5 years of service. Many young people were drawn to her and even thanked her with flowers at the end of services for their loved ones.
No one could tidy a room, or a church or a house like "Miss" Pat. She was stubborn and sassy and followed rules to a T. She was all business when it came to cleaning at the funeral home but could then lovingly joke with her co-workers which made her even more endearing to them.
Pat was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Roosevelt Cloud. She is survived by her loving son, Tony Cloud and his wife, Kristie; her grandchildren, Alyssa Humphrey and her husband, Mikey, Alex Cloud, and Abby Cloud; and her great-grandson, Kingsley Humphrey.
