Pamela Dee Strode

Pamela Dee Strode, age 83 of Indianapolis, passed away on Wednesday, March 22, 2023 at her residence. She was born November 29, 1939 in Framingham, Massachusetts, the daughter of Condee and Adelaide (Irving) Austin. Pam attended Arsenal Tech High School. She married the love of her life, Paul G. Strode on August 23, 1957 in Indianapolis and spent over 60 years of marriage together until his passing in 2017. She was a long-time member of Landmark Baptist Church. Pam retired after 30 years from working at Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield. To Pam, nothing was more important than her family. She was always there to help in any way she could. More than anything, Pam will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister.

Pamela is survived by 5 children, Paul, Teresa, Gloria, Becky and Jessica; 3 siblings, Carl, Diane and Cynthia; 13 grandchildren, Robert, Carrie, Holly, Amanda, Christina, McKinnah, Shalana, Shantel, Marissa, Levi, Stephen, Tasha and Ashley; many great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.

Pamela is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Paul G. Strode; son, Richard Strode; brother, Randall; and 2 sisters, Ruth and Joyce.

A funeral service celebrating Pam's life will take place at 1:00 pm on Friday, March 31, 2023 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 925 E. Hanna Ave. Indianapolis, IN 46227 with Rev. Steven Dailey of Mt. Calvary Evangelistic Church. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm prior to the service on Friday, March 31, 2023 at the funeral home.
