Pamela Jean "Jeanne" Steinmetz, age 66 of Indianapolis, passed way on Friday, August 11, 2023 at her residence. She was born June 17, 1957 in Indianapolis the daughter of Jack and Dorothy (Taylor) Timbs. She was a member of the class of 1975 at Southport High School. Jeanne worked for many years as a bartender in the area. She married David W. Steinmetz on November 9, 1991 and they have shared over 31 years of marriage together. Jeanne enjoyed reading, laying out in the sun, shopping and listening to music. She would go antique shopping and pick out items that she could rehabilitate. Jeanne loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren when she would take them to the drive in movies and go to their sporting events. There was nothing more important to Jeanne than her family. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister.
Jeanne is survived by her husband David W. Steinmetz; 4 children, Amanda Huff, Steven (Lauren) Poynter, Casandra (Monty) Timbs-Boone and Nicholas (Kristin) Steinmetz; 4 siblings, Linda (Earl) Allen, Ricky (Lynda) Timbs, Jackie (husband Carl) Schultz and Kelly Neace; 13 grandchildren, Marki (Luther) Nix, Luke (Brittani) Poynter, Caleb Decker, Machaela (Jesiah) Maxwell, Lincoln Poynter, Zoey Poynter, Isabelle Dusenberry, Carly Boone, Lilly Dusenberry, Gavin Poynter, Owen Poynter, Finley Steinmetz and Hallie Steinmetz; 5 great-grandchildren, Ryder Nix, Weston Nix, Nolan Nix, Hudson Jack Nix and Green Maxwell; and several nieces and nephews.
Jeanne is preceded in death by her parents; 2 sisters, Jamie Herald and Candice Turpin; and granddaughter, Hope M. Timbs.
A funeral service honoring Jeanne's life will take place at 4:00 pm on Wednesday, August 16, 2023 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals and Receptions, 925 E. Hanna Ave. Indianapolis, IN 46227. A visitation for family and friends will be held prior to the service from 2:00 to 4:00 PM on Wednesday, August 16, 2023 at the funeral home.
