Norma J. Payne Cross

Pinellas Park, FL - Norma J. Payne Cross, 87, passed away peacefully at home Friday, September 23, 2022. She was surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Cross was born July 5, 1935 in Indianapolis, IN to the late Deward and Lizzie Duvall Payne. She was in the class 1953 at Manual High School. She was the loving wife of David G. Cross MD.

Mrs. Cross was formerly employed by American Fletcher National Bank, where she served as an assistant manager. She also worked with her husband, Dr. David Cross, where she served as the office manager for his practice. She was a member of North Tampa Church of Christ and a past member of Stop 11 Church of Christ.

Mrs. Cross' hobbies included: sewing, gardening, cooking, entertaining, interior design and participating in church events. She loved God and her family, listening to music, playing euchre, giving to those in need and Christmas. She also loved watching sports, particularly the Indianapolis Colts, the Tampa Bay Lightning and the Tampa Bay Rays. Above all, she enjoyed taking care of her family and travelling with her husband.

In addition to her parents, Deward and Lizzie Duvall Payne, Mrs. Cross was preceded in death by her beloved husband, David G. Cross MD; son, Gregory Livingston; daughter, Kim Cross Hamilton; sisters: Carol Pryor, Phyllis Antewine and Pamela Andersen; and grandchildren: Angela Hamilton, Nathaniel Hamilton and Gabby Cross. She is survived by her children: Linda Livingston Raber, George Cross, Karen Cross Hamilton and Kathy Cross Golten; sister, Devonna Gray; and grandchildren: Anthony Livingston, Brandon Livingston, Chad Livingston, Dustin Burtron, Clayton Hamilton, Mason Hamilton, Lydia Golten, Lauren Golten and Gavin Cross; 13 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and many other beloved family members and dear friends.

Mrs. Cross' family will receive friends Saturday, October 8, 2022, from 11 am – 1 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 925 East Hanna Avenue, Indianapolis, IN. A celebration of her life will follow at 1 pm.
