Nicky Dean "Nick" Blakley

Indianapolis – Nicky Dean "Nick" Blakley, age 60, passed away at 7:54 a.m. on Friday, December 10, 2021 at Indiana University Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was the loving son of the late Jacob Esau Blakley and Marilyn Margaret Peterson. Nick was born at home on February 2, 1961 in Palo, Iowa. He was united in marriage on Halloween, October 31, 2003 to Jinny Dornay Freels in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Nick was a genuine, kind, loving and a down to earth person. He was certainly interested in getting to know people and he never met a stranger. He was constantly making everyone laugh with his funny sense of humor. Nick's hobbies were fishing and gardening. He loved hosting cookouts and feeding everyone delicious foods – he was definitely a people person. He also enjoyed tinkering and building things. Nick began working for CR Mechanical on July 28, 2014 and retired in 2019, due to his battle with cancer.

Nick is survived by his loving wife of 18 years, Jinny Dornay (Freels) Blakley; his children, Nicole Blakley, Damen Blakley, Atlas Blakley, Robert Wolfe, Daniel Wolfe, Ashley Wolfe and Sophia Evans; his 14 grandchildren; and 1 great grandchild and one on the way.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 15, 2021 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 925 East Hanna Avenue, Indianapolis, Indiana 46227.

In lieu of usual remembrances, direct memorial contributions to Jinny Blakley towards expenses.
