Nancy Jean (Gindelberger) Smith, of South Bend and New Smyrna Beach, passed away on Monday July 5, 2021. Nancy was born on July 10, 1935 in South Bend (Osceola), Indiana to Lowell and Helen Gindelberger (deceased).
She spent her career in the banking area in and around South Bend.
She married Herbert Smith later in life and spent many happy years with him including travel throughout the United States and spending time enjoying time with his children and families, siblings and their families, and especially their nieces and nephews. They retired to New Smyrna Beach, Florida.
Nancy was active in the United Methodist Church in Osceola, South Bend and New Smyrna. She served on many committees, projects and especially as a volunteer in church finances. Nancy is survived by step children, brothers in law, many nieces, nephews and extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Herbert, brother Ken Gindelberger, sister Pat (Leroy) Peters, and sister Sue (Steve) Sedgwick.
The family will have a private gathering to celebrate her life.
