Nancy Jean (Heacox) Hopkins, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on August 7, 2024 in Greenwood, Indiana. Born in Indianapolis on May 9, 1956, to Jack and Beverly (Gregory) Heacox, Nancy grew up surrounded by the love and support of her family.
Nancy attended Arlington High School, graduating in 1974, and went on to build a career filled with dedication and hard work. Her commitment to excellence was evident in everything she did, leaving a lasting impact on those around her.
Described as, compassionate, hardworking, and supportive, Nancy touched the lives of many with her kind and generous spirit. Her hobbies included gardening, cooking, enjoying live bands, and cheering on the Indianapolis Colts. She found joy in simple moments, especially when surrounded by her family and friends.
One of Nancy's proudest accomplishments was marrying Lawerence Hopkins in March 2002 in Indianapolis. Their love was a shining example of devotion and partnership, creating a home filled with love and warmth.
Nancy's memory will be cherished by her children, Kelly Carson and Michael (Sara) Wiggam, her mother Beverly (Gregory) Heacox, her siblings David and Mark Heacox, her grandchildren Tyler, Kaitlin, Darien Wiggam, and Gavin Carson, as well as her great-grandson Darien Wiggam Jr. She was also preceded in death by her father, Jack Heacox, and her son, Shane Wiggam.
The impact Nancy had on those around her is immeasurable, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her. A visitation in memory of Nancy will be held on August 16, 2024, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home in Indianapolis. It will be a time to come together, share memories, and honor the life of a remarkable woman who touched the hearts of many.
