INDIANAPOLIS – Mickey Allen Steele, 65, passed away at 3:01 AM on Thursday, January 19, 2023 at Franciscan Health Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was born to the late Wesley Edward and Barbara Jean Davis Steele on April 12, 1957 in Hope, Indiana. Mickey was united in marriage on July 18, 1979 to Barbara Ruth Hoskins at the Indianapolis City-County Building. This loving union was blessed with three children: Kevin, Adam and Amanda.
He graduated from Emmerich Manual High School in 1975. Mickey honorably served his country in the United States Marine Corps from 1975 to 1978. He retired from National Wine & Spirits in 2005. Mickey was a member of Teamsters Union. He was also an artist for ABATE of Indiana and all of his artwork is in the National Library of Congress in Washington, D.C.
Mickey enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and loved his family unconditionally. His hobbies were drawing, painting and playing the guitar.
Mickey is survived by his loving wife of nearly 44 years, Barbara Ruth Steele; his sons, Kevin Steele and his wife, Nicole and Adam Steele and his wife, Jennifer; his daughter, Amanda Steele and her wife, Lindsey; his grandchildren: Wesley Steele, Gage Steele, Landen Steele, Isabelle Steele, Nolan Steele and Parker Steele-Ford; and his sister, Vicki Trueblood. In addition to his parents, Mickey was preceded in death by his sister, Sarah Steele and brothers, Timothy and Gary Steele.
Mickey's family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM on Friday, January 27, 2023 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 925 East Hanna Avenue, Indianapolis, Indiana 46227. Military honors will be preformed at 3:30 PM by IMMHG at Newcomer. The funeral service will follow at 4:00 PM with Brother Eric Connell officiating. A dinner reception will be held at 5:30 PM following the funeral service at Mount Pleasant Christian Fellowship, 2425 South Emerson Avenue, Greenwood, Indiana 46143.
