Indianapolis, IN – Michael Tolan, 76, passed away on the night of Friday, April 1, 2022 at his residence. He was the loving son of the late George W. and Jessalynn (Golden) Tolan born on July 21, 1945 in Indianapolis, IN. Michael was united in marriage on December 4, 1965 to Cecilia I. Terry at Southport Baptist Church.
He graduated from Emmerich Manual High School in 1963. Michael was inducted into the United States Marine Corps on July 31, 1962 and proudly served his country during the Vietnam War. During his time in the Marines he received a good conduct medal and was honorably discharged on May 28, 1965. Professionally, Michael was an entrepreneur and worked in the swimming pool installation industry for 40 years.
He loved his wife and family deeply. Michael enjoyed playing Gin Rummy and smoking cigars. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge.
Michael leaves behind his loving wife of nearly 57 years, Cecilia I. (Terry) Tolan; daughters, Candice Combs and Andrea Xaver; brother, Daniel Tolan; sister, Patricia Estell; grandchildren, Jeffery Xaver, Noah Tolan, Jessica Xaver and Addison Xaver; 1 great grandchild due in June of 2022; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Michael was preceded in death by his siblings: John Tolan, George Tolan Jr. and Melissa Tempke.
Michael's friends and family may visit from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM on Saturday, April 9, 2022 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 925 East Hanna Avenue, Indianapolis, Indiana 46227. The funeral service will follow at 4:00 PM with Cleon Wright officiating.
