Michael Fred Metcalf

Indianapolis - Michael Fred Metcalf, 39, passed away Tuesday, September 4, 2018.

Michael was born March 11, 1979 in Indianapolis, IN. He owned and operated his own construction company. His family described Michael as funny and charismatic, stating he frankly didn't care what anyone else thought of him as long as he thought he was right and his people were being taken care of.

Michael loved life, despite the fact that he had been sick for the past year or so. He was the most happy and content when surrounded by family and friends, eating, laughing and getting into trouble. He was incredibly and fiercely devoted to his family and friends, but no one meant more to him than his kids. People often commented that they had never met anyone more proud of his kids than Michael was.

Michael was preceded in death by his father, Ronald Metcalf. He is survived by his beloved wife and soul mate, Jennifer Metcalf; children, Makayla Melton, Blake Metcalf and Charlie Metcalf; mother, Opal (Marty) Caldwell; sister, Rhonda Metcalf; brothers, Steven Caldwell and Chad Ison; 11 nieces and nephews and many other family members and friends that he thought of as family. No one has ever missed anyone more that Michael's family will miss him in the years to come.

Michael's family will receive friends Tuesday, September 11, 2018, from 4 - 8 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals and Receptions, 925 East Hanna Avenue, Indianapolis, IN 46227. A celebration of his life will be conducted Wednesday, September 12, 2018, at 10 am at the funeral home. Interment will follow at West Newton Cemetery.
