Michael J. Lambert

Michael J. "Fred" Lambert, age 66 of Indianapolis passed away on Monday, September 5, 2022 at St. Francis Hospital in Indianapolis following an extended illness. Mike was born on September 21, 1955 in Beech Grove, Indiana the son of James and Margaret (Watson) Lambert. He attended Greenwood High School. Mike was given the nickname "Fred" at a young age and it stuck with him the rest of his life. Fred worked for Clearview Building Service for over 40 years. He married Carol Donovan on May 6, 1978 in Indianapolis and spent over 44 years of marriage together. Fred enjoyed horse racing, going to the casino with friends and playing poker. He loved everything there was about the Kentucky Derby. He liked to watch NASCAR and the Indianapolis Colts. Fred was a classic car guy and loved to drive his 1979 Lincoln Marc V. He enjoyed being outdoors riding his bike. Fred adored his dog, "Bennie" and always looked forward to the holiday times to spend it with his family. More than anything, Fred enjoyed life and loved his family.

Fred is survived by his wife, Carol Lambert; 2 sisters, Donna Smith and Patty Freund; brother, Richard (wife Laurie) Lambert; 2 brothers-in-law, Rex Donovan and Richard Donovan; nieces and nephews, Jennifer Blok, Alicia Arney, Shaun Freund, Emily Lambert and Lelan Lambert; and numerous extended family and friends.

Fred is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Tom Lambert.

A visitation celebrating Fred's life will be held from 11:00 to 1:00 pm on Saturday, September 17, 2022 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals and Receptions at 925 East Hanna Ave. Indianapolis, IN 46227. Please continue to support Fred's family during these difficult times.
