Indianapolis - Michael Joseph Howard, 59, lost his battle with dementia and mental illness Saturday, June 8, 2024. He was born May 6, 1965 in Indianapolis to Walter and Barbara Thibo Howard. He spent his early years in Florida. Whether it was fishing, scuba diving or just staring at the ocean, Mike loved anything on the water. He also raced BMX as a teenager.
Later in life his love for dogs led him to start breeding Rottweilers. He became an exceptional dog trainer. In 2001, his love of freedom and the open road pushed him to purchase his first Harley. Mike and his wife, Donna, spent their spare time taking many memorable rides. In later years, he became a certified welder.
Mike is survived by his wife, Donna Howard; daughter, Chasidy Starlin; son, Timothy Baker; grandchildren: Braydon Mann, Bree Mullis, Paityn Starlin, Brinley Mullis Baker, Boss Mullis and Berkley Mullis; brother, Jim Howard; and many other family members and friends.
Mike was so much more than the way he died. His wife, Donna, believes in focusing on all of the good things he did in his life and not the way he died.
A celebration of Mike’s life will be conducted Saturday, September 7, 2024, from 3 – 7 pm at Pavilion 2 at Meadowood Park, Speedway, IN 46224.
