INDIANAPOLIS – Michael Dean Gonzalez, 68, passed away at 3:34 AM on Wednesday, March 22, 2023 at his residence. He was born on September 29, 1954 to the late Ignacio and Angelina Martinez Gonzalez in Monticello, Utah. Michael was united in marriage on September 29, 2010 to Susan Marie Wenzlaff at Faith Assembly of God in Beech Grove, Indiana.
He attended Monticello High School and graduated in 1972. Michael honorably served his country in the United States Army. While serving in the Army as a medic, he rose to the rank of Sergeant before retiring. Michael collected various things and was a movie fanatic. He enjoyed watching the television show Days of Our Lives and spending time with family. Michael was a huge food enthusiast. He loved his family, animals and God.
Michael is survived by his loving wife of nearly 13 years, Susan Marie Gonzalez; his children: Thaddius Gonzalez, Marc Gonzalez, Brandi (David) Elure, Matthew (Sarah) Smith, Steven (Christina) Smith, Angel Kunkle and Sydney Kunkle; his siblings: Christine Young, Jose Gonzalez, Tomas Gonzalez, Sabrina Smrz and Marci Toledo; and his grandchildren: Ariya Smith, Kora Smith, Eryn Smith, Willow Elure, Nolan Elure, Heath Elure and Shelby Gonzlez. In addition to his parents, Michael was preceded in death by his sister.
