Matthew A. Donaldson

INDIANAPOLIS – Matthew A. Donaldson, 30, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, October 30, 2022. He was born July 30, 1992 in Beech Grove, Indiana to Cassandra Jo Nickell and Bruce Donaldson.


Matthew graduated from Mooresville High School in 2011 and then started his own company, working as a general contractor. He met Kristen Wyatt during his junior year of high school and happily spent the next 13 years with her. Matthew was absolutely crazy in love with her. The couple shared a puppy together and her name is Abella.


Matthew was passionate about music and was an extremely gifted singer and guitarist. He enjoyed playing video games and indulging in a glass of bourbon every once in a while. Matthew was handsome, strong, funny, intellectual and charismatic. He had a huge heart and a smile that would light up the room if you were gifted to see it. Matthew's late grandmother, Arline, and his younger brother Joshua held a special place in his heart.


He is survived by his loving mother, Cassandra Jo Nickell and her significant other, Robert "Bob" Duke; father, Bruce Donaldson II and his wife, Tracey; brothers, Joshua Donaldson and his wife, Catie and Michael Donaldson and his wife, Mariah; sisters: Erin Mroz and her husband, Nick, Madilyn Donaldson, Gabriel Donaldson, Katlyn Donaldson, Holli Duke, Bobbie Duke, Kristina Duke and Shauna Duke; aunts: Carrie Heinbuckle, Maxine Groush, Marsha Herringer, April Mullin, Yvonne Conway and her husband, Joe and Gwen Hommel and her husband, Mark; uncles: Mike Donaldson, Jeremy Donaldson and Jason Donaldson; and grandparents, Linda Donaldson and Beverly Ripley.


Matthew was preceded in death by his grandpa Bruce Donaldson Sr., grandpa Lonnie Nickell, grandmother Arline Nickell, uncle Eric Mullin, uncle Jason Donaldson, uncle Jerry Merrill and uncle Greg Herringer.


Matthew's friends and family may visit from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Friday, November 4, 2022 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 925 East Hanna Avenue, Indianapolis, Indiana 46227. Visitation will also be held from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 5, 2022 at Newcomer. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM with Michael Donaldson officiating.
