Mary Ellen Pauley

Mary Ellen Pauley, age 85, of Indianapolis, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 12, 2017. She was born in Delphi, Indiana on July 11, 1931 to Paul and Florence Kempf (nee Long).

Mary Ellen was a 1949 graduate of Delphi High School; she started working in Delphi with Farm Bureau Insurance and worked in Insurance for 60 years. She was married to Earl on August 28, 1955 at the First Baptist Church in Delphi. They moved to Indianapolis shortly thereafter where they raised their family. They joined Eagledale (Crosspointe) Baptist Church in 1960 where she was a faithful member; she taught Sunday school, was a member of the choir and served for the rest of her life. She was an avid cook, baker and loved to travel.

Mary Ellen is survived by her children and their spouses: Debra & Steve Fulford of Avon, Douglas & Luann Pauley of Bargersville; brother, Thomas Kempf; grandchildren and their spouses: Shannon & Justin Schellenberg, Sarah & Joe Wehmeier, Stephanie & Jordan Yant, Kirsten Pauley, Rachel & Nicholas Kern; great-grandchildren: Allison, David, Levi, Eden, Adam and a host of other family members and friends.

Preceding her in death are her parents; husband: Earl Pauley whom she was married to for 47 years; siblings: Herman Kempf and Darlene Huff.

Her funeral ceremony will be at 1:00 pm Monday, January 16, 2017 at Crosspointe Baptist Church 220 Country Club Rd, Indianapolis, IN 46234 with Pastor Arrowood officiating.
