Mary Kathryn (Hill) Bayus, 83, of Dayton, Ohio, passed away on December 14, 2018. Mary was born in Hartford City, Indiana to Max Hill & Crystal (Drinnon) Hill McCain. Mary was a graduate of Robinson, IL High School. Mary worked for many years at the Kettering Foundation. She was a beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother and friend; she loved to travel and entertain. Christmas was her favorite time of the year.
Mary K was a very loving, caring, beautiful, both inside & out, social, talkative & wonderful woman. She loved life & lived it to its fullest, finding enjoyment & pleasure in whatever she did. Her family meant the world to her.
Mary could be considered a bit of a world traveler. While married to her first husband, Robert D Stinson, they had two daughters, Sheri & Debbie. Bob's service in the Air Force took Mary & the family overseas to live in Iran & then to Afghanistan. During these times the family also had the opportunity to spend time in Greece, Germany & Thailand. Being her social self, Mary was able to adapt to where ever life took her.
When returning from overseas she went to work for the Kettering Foundation 1969. She worked for them 30 years until she finally retired. She made many friends there & loved her job, especially when it consisted of coordinating events.
Mary met her soulmate & love of her life Donald Bayus & they were married in May, 1984. They loved to travel & just experience everything in life together. Their favorite times were their annual trips to Canada to do some walleye fishing with family or their trips to St George Island to bask in the sun. As Mary developed Alzheimer's years ago Donald was by her side every day until he passed.
Mary will be missed by many and loved always & forever by her family she is survived by her children: Sheri Stinson Carey (Jim), Debbie Stinson Owen (Rodney); granddaughter: Ashley Barrett, great-grandchildren: Brayden, Ryleigh; sister: Betty Tuttle; nieces: Kathy Wehrmen, Jennifer Swinford, Terri Hursey; step-children: Greg Bayus, Diane Snyder, Trisha Boggs, Brad Bayus and their families. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Donald L. Bayus; sister: Mona Lou Leuenberger.
The family will conduct a Graveside Service and a Celebration of Life will be on conducted on Friday, December 21 at Greenbrier Condominium Clubhouse 1225 E Alex Bell Rd, Dayton, OH 45459 at 2 P.M. until 5 P.M. www.NewcomerIndy.com In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Assoc.
