Marshall Craig Walker

April 22, 1954 — April 18, 2023

Marshall Craig Walker, 68, of New Whiteland, Indiana, passed away April 18, 2023, at Community Hospital South in Indianapolis. Marshall "Craig" was born April 22, 1954, in Durham, North Carolina to Thomas E. and Charlotte K. Walker. He found music in everything and was a prolific artist. He always found a way to share his art with the world and his family. He loved to travel in Europe and was a student of history. He loved books and read every day. His memory was incredible, and he could tell you his row and seat number at the Led Zeppelin concert in 1975. He loved deeply, and out of that, has three daughters: Laura Turvey, Jessie Whittenburg and Hannah Riffey. He has been able to share the last years of his life with a kindred spirit in his loving wife Sharon, enjoying countless hours of music (both at concert venues and in their cozy living room) and of quiet reflection in their nature-filled personal oasis of a yard. He was so in tune with nature that the birds and backyard animals would come right up to his lawn chair to visit him. Many people will know him from his decades as an engineer as well as co-owner of Kinethics, Inc. He was known for his awesomely distinct handwriting from years as a draftsman drawing schematics on graph paper Many more will know him as a musician including his years as guitarist and lead singer in The Clouds, at open mic nights around Indianapolis, and for publishing his more recent compositions on Bandcamp.com as The Cave Slinkies. He had some amazing collaborations of artistic expression from Shakespearian architectural prints, wooden block print carvings of the Greek Isles, and even dried flowers.

He was preceded in death by his mother Charlotte K. Walker.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon, father, Thomas E. Walker (97) of Plano, TX, sister Wendy Walker Smith of Chapel Hill, NC, daughters Laura (Chris) Turvey, Jessie (Jake) Whittenburg and Hannah (Jon) Riffey along with four grandchildren Marshall, Sydney, Loryn, and Hollis.
