Marlene Lynn (Burton) Longelin, 56, of Indianapolis, Indiana entered this life on June 28, 1965 in Wanamaker, IN. She was born to Marshel and Margaret Burton. Marlene passed away at 4:16 PM on Saturday, October 9, 2021 at IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.
She attended Cottage Avenue Pentecostal Fellowship in Indianapolis for many years. Marlene attended IUPUI and then Ivy Tech Community College for accounting. Professionally, she was an accountant at UPS. Marlene was united in marriage on March 8, 1986 to Dean Ray Longelin in Indianapolis. This union was blessed with one son, Dean Ray Longelin, Jr.
She loved knitting and crocheting, especially making baby blankets. Marlene enjoyed reading and spending time with her husband, son and grandchildren. She spent a lot of time on the porch with her husband watching the sunrise and sunset. Marlene loved her Pit Bulls, Bella and Rubble.
Marlene was a fantastic wife, mother and grandmother. You couldn't ask for a better person to be a part of your family. Marlene was the best wife Dean could ever imagine marrying. When Dean met Marlene he was in a dark place and she saved his life. Marlene gave Dean the most beautiful family. She was fiery and stubborn.
She is survived by her loving husband of 36 years, Dean Ray Longelin; her son, Dean Ray Longelin, Jr.: her grandson, Nicholas Andrew Longelin; her granddaughter, Jasmine Marie Longelin; and many extended relatives.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 7:00 PM on Tuesday, October 19, 2021 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 925 East Hanna Avenue, Indianapolis, Indiana 46227.
Visitation will also be held from 11:00 – 12:00 PM on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 925 East Hanna Avenue, Indianapolis, Indiana 46227. The funeral service will follow at 12:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, 734 North Morgantown Road, Greenwood, Indiana 46142.
