Marilyn Brown

January 24, 1950 — September 20, 2022

Marilyn Brown, age 72 of Indianapolis passed away on Tuesday, September 20, 2022 at her residence. She was born January 24, 1950 in Indianapolis the daughter of Ronald Hartsock and Boneita Matthews. Marilyn was a 1967 graduate of Manuel High School. Marilyn worked at the Department of Revenue for over 21 years until she retired in 2015. She enjoyed crocheting, watching soap operas and spending time with her fur babies, Ginger and Princess. She liked to read the daily comics and still had some she had cut out over 50 years ago. Marilyn was a homebody but she truly loved everyone she came in contact with. She never met a stranger and got along with all of her neighbors at Sherman Village Apartments. If there was a yard sale within the area on a weekend, you could guarantee to see her there. She enjoyed having her friend Kitty over for dinners and they would play Yahtzee and laugh about old memories. More than anything, Marilyn was a loving mother, grandmother and friend to all.

Marilyn is survived by 3 daughters, Traci (husband Rocky) Murray, Staci Wheeler and Nanci (husband Chris Green) Moncel; step-daughter, Christina (Christy Jarvis) Sequndo; beloved and long-time friends, Kitty Fendley and Cynthia Brown; 15 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and numerous extended family members and friends.

Marilyn is preceded in death by her parents and sister, Theresa Clark.

Marilyn's wishes were to be cremated and no formal services. Newcomer Cremations, Funerals and Receptions in Indianapolis is honored to handle Marilyn's arrangements.
