Loretta Lee Renner

Loretta L. Renner, age 80 of Indianapolis passed away on Tuesday, June 20, 2023 at her residence following an extended illness. She was born September 30, 1942 in Broadhead, Kentucky the daughter of Harry Lee and Allie Christine (Vaughn) Carlton. Loretta married Coy Roman Renner in 1958 and they shared over 64 years of marriage together until his passing. Loretta was an exceptional mother, who not only raised her 6 children but also any child that was near. She was the true matriarch of her family keeping her independence all of her life. Loretta has a true gift for cooking anything homemade and was known for her famous oatmeal fudge candy. When it came to music, nobody was better to Loretta than Elvis Presley. Throughout Loretta's life she always remained strong willed, fun and determined to better other's lives around her.

Loretta is survived by her 5 children, Connie Bastin, Robbin Renner, Randy Renner, Rhonda Horton and Brian Renner; 11 grandchildren, Summer Harpor, Holly Renner, Casey Solis, Larry Baire, Natalie Bastin, Chandra McClure, Jason Campbell, Jessica Kirkoff, Dylan Renner, Suzanne and Tyler; 15 great-grandchildren, Hannah, Carter, Parker, Hayden, Jack, Callen, Donnie Logan, Charity, Jordan, Michael, Nolla, Ella, Kiko, Julian and Olivia; and several extended family members and friends.

Loretta is preceded in death by her parents; adopted parents, Ance and Mauddie Vaughn; husband, Coy Roman Renner; son, Donnie Renner; 8 siblings; close brother, Wilson Sonny Vaughn; son-in-law, Charles Horton, Jr; and granddaughter, Mariah Coy Kern.

A funeral service celebrating Loretta's life will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, June 27, 2023 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals and Receptions, 925 E. Hanna Ave. Indianapolis, IN 46227. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 pm on Monday, June 26, 2023 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals and Receptions. Burial will take place following the funeral service on Tuesday.
