Indianapolis – Leroy Henderson Amos, 80, passed away Wednesday, June 19, 2024. He was born July 10, 1943 in Park City, Kentucky to the late George Edwards and Katie Elizabeth (Woods) Amos. Leroy had a long career and retired as a truck driver for UPS.
While Leroy had his own way of showing it, he was caring and considerate and loving. He was also hardworking and a loyal friend. Leroy adored his family and would brag on them any chance he got.
One of Leroy’s greatest talents was working on cars and that is where you would find him most of the time. However, when he wasn’t working on cars, he enjoyed taking in an old western movie.
What you may not have known, is that Leroy played guitar. Additionally, he loved identifying the different musical instruments in songs.
In addition to his parents, Leroy was preceded in death by his son, Rodney Amos; brothers, George “Buzzard” Amos, William “Vim” Amos, Roy “Fats” Amos, Robert “Robert Lee” Amos and John “Johnson” Amos; sisters, Virginia “Burt” Wilson and Louiza “Deedo” Burton. He is survived by his children, Neverly Boards, Leroy Jr., Kimberly, Kanisha and Royal Amos, Katherine (Rev. Arthur) Spain and Lacie and Kellye Willis; Sister, Maudie Veora “Leggin” Boards; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; and many other loving family members and dear friends.
