Leo Joseph Rickenbach, lifelong resident of Indianapolis, Indiana, 71, passed away at 8:52 a.m. on Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at his residence. He was born on December 18, 1949 to the late Harry Gilbert and Marcella (Davis) Rickenbach in Indianapolis, Indiana.
He graduated from Plainfield High School, class of 1968. Leo was retired from the Indiana Carpenters Union – Local 301. He was united in marriage on September 1, 2007 to Susan Sorensen at home in Indianapolis, Indiana. Leo enjoyed horse shoes, sports, politics, darts, pool and wood working. He loved the outdoors and yard work. Leo was a lifetime auxiliary member of VFW 1120 and American Legion 355.
He is survived by his loving wife of 13 years, Susan Rickenbach of Indianapolis, IN; his son, A. Dean Rickenbach and his wife Tammy of Fishers, IN; his daughter, Carrie A. Coy and her husband Eric of Jasonville, IN; his step-sons, Thomas James Fair and his wife Dreama of Tell City, IN and Robert Lynn Fair and his wife Joline of Dunkirk, IN; his grandchildren; Hunter R. Rickenbach and Logan D. Rickenbach; and his grandson, Zayne Robert Fair.
Leo's friends and family may visit from 10 am – 12 pm on Saturday, January 23, 2021 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 925 East Hanna Avenue, Indianapolis, Indiana 46227. The Funeral Service will follow at 12 pm. For the health and safety of all guests attending, face masks are required. In lieu of usual remembrances, direct memorial contributions to the family are appreciated.
