Lanita Marie (Sissy) Russell, 43, of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away on August 8, 2020. Born on March 17, 1977 to Anita Bryant and the late Daniel Pollard. Lanita attended Howe High School. Later in life, Lanita was known for being the neighborhood mom, her year round Christmas spirit, her amazing pool parties, her beautiful handwriting and her positive outlook on life. She was a cancer survivor, beating it more times than she would like to admit. Lanita was willing to open her heart and doors to anyone in need of help and assistance, some would call her their Angel on Earth. Lanita was a Christian, blessed with an unwavering faith that could not be shaken. She was an avid fan of Journey, more importantly Steve Perry. Lanita was a creative mind, often planning and decorating her family's birthday parties and holiday events. She often said that "the party goes, where I go". Family would be the first to say she was innocently too 'extra'; always going over the top in the best ways. Lanita is survived by her husband, Alex Grove, her 3 beautiful girls and 'adoptive' son, Mckenzi (Austin) Johnson, Abigayle Sizemore and Journey Grove, her grandbabies, Aivery, Kyleigh and Harlee Johnson, the apples of her eye, her brothers, Glenn Russell and Earl Bryant, her sisters, Amanda Pollard and Elida (Juvy) Graviles, her grandmother, Edna Mills, her aunts, Judy, Veda, Arrow (Lanie), uncle Anthony (Ankie), friend of faith, Karen Trice and many nieces, nephews and forever friends. Lanita was preceded in death by her cousin, Mitchell Allen, stepfather, Robert 'Bob' Wallace Sr., grandfather, Glenwood Mills, niece, Tierra Pierson, aunt, Dianna Elmore, and extended family, Connie Sizemore Simpson. Lanita will be sorely missed by her loved ones.
