Krystal D. Wicks

Krystal Dawn Wicks, age 32 of Indianapolis, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, February 2, 2023. She was born February 10, 1990 in Indianapolis, the daughter of Richard Wicks and Wendy (Murray) Wicks. Krystal attended Warren Central High School. She was currently working as a Certified Nursing Assistant at the Marion County VA Hospital, but she had spent many years working as a CNA at St. Francis Hospital. She had previously worked at a few nursing homes as a CNA, and at a medical center specializing in helping children with autism. Krystal was currently continuing her education through Ivy Tech College to become a Registered Nurse. She was a high achiever in all of her classes and was always at least a week ahead in all of her studies.

Krystal was a true fun, energetic and loving mother, soul mate, daughter, granddaughter, aunt and friend. She enjoyed listening to music, singing, going shopping and going out to eat. Krystal loved to go on vacations and road trips with her soul mate, Charlie Settles and their children. She liked taking pictures, doing hair and was always ready to learn new things. Krystal will be remembered as an amazing mom who truly loved life.

Krystal is survived by her boyfriend, Charles "Charlie" Settles; 4 children, Charleigh Rose Settles, Krystian Damian Settles, Julius Wayne Settles and Jayda Marie Settles; mother, Wendy (Brian) Hinkle; father, Richard Wicks; mother-in-law, Portia Settles; grandparents, Ann (Dick) Wicks and Carolyn Murray; 5 siblings, Rikki Wicks, Kent Wicks, Ashley Prentice, Cody Hinkle and Harmony Hinkle.

Krystal is preceded in death by her nephew, Blake Wicks; and numerous grandparents.

A memorial service honoring Krystal's life will take place at 12:00 pm on Thursday, February 16, 2023 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals and Receptions, 925 E. Hanna Ave. Indianapolis, IN 46227 with Dennis Carnes officiating. A visitation for family and friends will be held prior to the service from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm on Thursday, February 16, 2023 at the funeral home.
