Indianapolis – Kris Lee Hill, 61, passed away Tuesday, December 11, 2018.
Kris was born December 29, 1956 in New Castle, IN. Kris attended school in New Castle, Howe Military Academy and Ball State University. He was employed in the automobile industry and owned several sales facilities in and around Marion, Muncie and Indianapolis. He completed his work years in the construction industry. During those years, his construction firm rehabilitated single and multifamily homes.
Kris loved to be outdoors and around water. He was an avid fisherman. One of his greatest joys was to take trips…if they ended with him and his friends fishing for days.
Kris was never too busy to help others. His neighbors, friends and family will attest to his willingness to work on houses, boats, cars and whatever else needed fixing. He was always there to lend a hand. Another important aspect of Kris caring for those around him was his work with A.A. On February 28, 2018, he celebrated 23 years of sobriety. He also sponsored many others who needed his help.
Music was another important part of Kris' life. He played guitar and sang for his own amusement and the entertainment of others. His friends and family were enriched by his interpretations and rich voice.
Kris was preceded in death by his beloved father, Robert H. Frame and his adoptive mother, Bernice M. Plank. He is survived by his loving wife of 21 years, Mickey Ilaine (Fruits) Hill; son, Christopher George Hill of Lafayette, IN; sister, Stella Sue (Hill) DeHeer; and many nieces and nephews. Ms. Paige Taylor Hatfield was a bonus child to Kris and Mickey. Kris loved her as his own. He spent many hours helping her with her school work and never missed a single one of her sporting events until he became very ill.
Kris' family will receive friends Monday, December 17, 2018, from 10:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. at Northminster Presbyterian Church, 1660 Kessler Boulevard East Drive, Indianapolis, IN 46220. A celebration of his life will follow at 11:30 a.m. at the church with Pastor Teri Thomas officiating.
